Questions I hear all the time.
Sixty years of remodeling means I’ve answered these a few thousand times. Here they are.
Frequently asked
Everything you’re wondering
How much does it cost?
Of course that depends on many factors: pieces and parts selected, size of room or rooms involved. I do a trial budget to narrow down the “range.”
How long does it take?
Average for a total gut and redo, 4 to 8 weeks. Shorter and longer are possible.
How much do you do?
We have the ability to do it all, in house.
How do we select the pieces and parts?
I take you shopping once we’ve arrived at an affordable budget, and you get to pick everything we’ll use.
How do we cook during the process?
We can put together a temporary kitchen away from the work area, depending on how you wish to cook, store and gather to eat during that time. Very flexible.
Are painted cabinets popular?
About 80% of cabinets today tend to be painted, but stained wood still has its sway.
What about two-tone kitchens?
Sometimes to add spice or break up monotony the combo is quite nice.
What happens to our old kitchen?
If they are sound we can donate to Habitat for Humanity, sometimes I have waiting lists, or you can use them yourself. Donations are sometimes tax deductible.
Do you remodel other rooms?
Yes, sometimes it makes a lot of sense!
Are you and your sub contractors licensed and insured?
Yes, I won’t use anyone who’s not, and we always get permits and have inspections.
You may have lots more questions which I’ll be happy to answer when we talk!
